What Up Cuz?!

I'm lucky to have an amazing and supportive sister who also recently had a baby! Elsie's cousin (and my adorable nephew) Gabe, was born on Dec. 11. We like to make Gabe and Elsie stare at each other. Some day they will be bossing each other around, but for now it's tummy time and lots of drooling.

Happy Half Birthday!

February 21st marked Elsie's half birthday! I sang an amazing half-birthday song to her, I'm a kindergarten teacher and get paid for these sorts of things! People warn you that time goes by fast, but I really never understood this until Elsie entered our lives. As you can see from the photos a lot has happened In just six months! She's sitting up on her own, yelling, blowing bubbles, smiling, and keeping us completly amused. We often call Elsie our tv replacement!
Here's her 6 month stats: Weight: 15 pounds 11 ounces Height: 26 1/4 inches.

After 5 and a half months of nothing but mommy juice, Elsie has entered the world of solid foods aka boring rice cereal (for now). We aren't sure if she's tasted any of it, but she enjoys blowing it at us and making a big mess!

Yes, motherhood is glamorous! This is how Soren and I spent Saturday night. Folding weeks worth of laundry and making Elsie laugh.

Happy Valentine's Day

Elsie had a wonderful Valentine's day. Who knew that infants exchanged Valentine's Day cards?! Her parents weren't aware of this so, Elsie was one of "those kids." With no cards to give but a a lot to receive. There is so much to learn!

Brace yourself...I have a blog

Well, I enter this crazy blog world with mixed feelings. On one hand I'm excited about the idea of using this space to brag about my beautiful baby girl, which is mostly what this blog will be used for. On the other hand I'm a little anxious about the idea of keeping it up-to-date and thinking about the hundreds, dare I say thousands, of hits this blog is sure to get!
