I can't believe I just wrote the above title, but yes, Elsie's first trip to the dentist was really fun! She was a fantastic patient! She left with a princess toothbrush and a necklace. She held onto the toothbrush for about 1.5 hours after the appointment. She loves it and wants to know if Snow White can babysit her some day.

Interesting Book Choice
Once a week we head to the library for a story time and to get a bag full of new books. I quickly pick out books while watching Margot climb and fall off chairs and keep an eye on Elsie while she drools over the Dora and Princess books. I don't spend too much time looking at the books we check out. When we got home to look at our new gems I found it very entertaining to see the two books pictured above in our bag.

Life of a Princess and her Sidekick
I suppose it was inevitable that the Disney princesses would invade our house. Elsie watched the Princess and the Frog last week and we have been living in a world of fairy tales ever since. For most of the day Elsie assumes the role of Princess Tiana. If we call her Elsie she is quick to remind us that this is not her name. Here's a classic example:
Me: "Elsie, please put on your shoes."
Elsie: "Um, my name is Tiana."
Me: "OK Tiana, please put on your shoes."
Elsie lets Margot in on the fun too. Margot is now Louis, the adorable alligator who loves jazz music. Today Soren informed me that Margot now answers to the name of Louis. Poor Margot, talk about an identity crisis.

Out With the Old...
Goodbye 2010...
And Hello 2011!
By looking at these two pictures, here's what the year end awards ceremony would sound like at the Erickson house:
And Hello 2011!
By looking at these two pictures, here's what the year end awards ceremony would sound like at the Erickson house:Most Changed: Margot. This is a no brainer, last year she wasn't even able to support her head and now she can run and throw a tantrum.
Extreme Hair Growth: Elsie. I think her hair has grown at least 8 inches this past year. Watch out Rapunzel
Most likely to be wearing the same jeans in 2012 picture: Anne and Soren. Good chance we are wearing the same jeans in 2010 and 2011 picture. We might as well try to go for a turkey.
Happy New Year! Hope 2011 brings you health, happiness, and lots of laughter!
